 The
Wood Turtle line art version was completed in 2005 and the
digital tinting added in 2007.

Information about the Wood Turtle:
Wood Turtles belong to the genus Glyptemys. There are
two species of Wood Turtle in this Genus and both live in
North America in the areas of the Northeast and Great Lakes.
They are medium to small-sized turtles, with a carapace
reaching between 6-9 inches. The Wood Turtle spends most
of it's time in forested areas, but it is also semi-aquatic
and needs to be near streams, ponds and rivers. In some
US states the Wood Turtle is in decline and considered endangered
or vulnerable.
