sage sparrow thumb The Sage Sparrow was commissioned to be part of a field guide to the Reno/Lake Tahoe area. As of fall of 2008 it has yet to be published. The drawing is based on a photo by Ron Wolf.

Information about the Sage Sparrow:

The Sage Sparrow is a small, grayish brown songbird that lives in dry brushy foothills, chaparrel and arid desert areas of the southwestern US. It belongs to the order of Passeriformes. As the same suggests, these birds are commonly found in sagebrush habitats, as well as other arid bushy stands.
