| Information about the Chilean FlamingoThe Chilean Flamingo is a large species of shorebird closely related to Caribbean and Greater Flamingo. As the same suggests it occurs in temperate areas of Central Peru south through Chile, Bolivia, and Argentina to Tierra del Fuego, but it has also been introduced into areas of Germany and the Netherlands. The flamingo inhabits shallow saline and alkaline lakes and lagoons. Like all flamingos this bird is very gregarious as it generally flocks in groups of a few hundred to tens of thousands, where it displays ritualized movements of head and wings, accompanied by loud calls. The Chilean Flamingo is not considered threatened. FREE SHIPPING IN THE US! |
