 The
Phantasmal Poison Dart Frog was originally
sketched in 2005, but the final drawing was completed in
2008. The image is based on a photo by the talented Swiss
herp photographer Reto Siegenthaaler.

The Phantasmal Poison Dart Frog is an amphibian who's
natural habitat are the Andean slopes of the Ecuador and
Peru. They have vibrant color and a very potent poison,
although they are relatively small frogs. The poison from
this dart frog is being developed by pharmaceutical companies
as a potential painkiller.
