Information about the White-Tailed Deer:
White-Tailed Deer, also known as the Virginia deer, inhabit
most of southern Canada and all of the mainland United States
except two or three states in the west. These deer are able
to survive in a variety of terrestrial habitats. The deer
can be recognized by the characteristic white underside
to its tail, which it shows as a signal of alarm by raising
the tail during escape. It is the official animal of the
state of Ohio, Nebraska, Arkansas, Michigan, Mississippi,
New Hampshire, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Pennsylvania and
Illinois.
