Artist's notes:
 The
Grizzly Bear is a 're-do' from an earlier drawing. The original
made more use of line than stipple, therefore it felt a
lot more stiff. This image uses line only for suggestion
of the outline of the bear and the fur is entirely stipple.
The drawing is based on a photo by A. Chang.

Information about the Grizzly Bear:
The Grizzly Bear is a large predator with a distinctive
hump on its shoulders. The long hairs on their backs and
shoulders often have white tips and give the bears a "grizzled"
appearance, hence the name "grizzly." They are 3- 3 ½ feet
at shoulders and about 6-7 feet long. Adults weigh between
300 - 850 pounds. Grizzlies are very fast with a top speed
of of 35 mph. It is the official animal of the state of
Montana.
