Artist's notes:
 Unbelievable.
That's my first thought whenever I see these bizarre frogs.
They look, to me, like a regular frog that someone has tried
to inflate with a pump. This was one drawing of a five part
series of frogs I illustrated in 2005. The color was added
in 2007. It remains a favorite of mine.

Information about the Ornate Horned Frog:
The Ornate Horned Frog, also known as the Argentine Horned
frog or Pac-man frog, is native to the lush rainforests
of Argentina, Brazil and Uruguay. This large frog is a voracious
eater and will attempt to eat anything that moves close
to it's mouth. It will eat birds, insects, lizards, and
other frogs including ones of the same species. The Ornate
Horned Frog's mouth accounts for roughly half of the entire
amphibian's size. They are easy animals to keep and make
very good pets.
