| This illustration is also available as stock art. | Artist's notes: This was part of a series of three line art illustrations I created of lemurs in 2005. The other was a ringtailed and a sifaka. The sifaka lemur wasn't ever digitally tinted like the other two. What amazed me about this lemur is it's massive tail.
| Information about the Black and White Ruffed Lemur:Black & White Ruffed Lemurs inhabit the lowland rain forests of Madagascar. These primates get their name from the ruff of long, thick fur that runs from around the ears to under the chin. Their fur is thick, silky and colored black and white, in a patchy pattern that may serve as camouflage. Ruffed lemurs are among the largest of living lemur species growing to 1.5 - 2 feet (head and body) and weighing 7 - 10 pounds. Lemurs are of the suborder prosimians which means “before apes” in Latin. FREE SHIPPING IN THE US! |
