Artist's notes:
 This
is one of the first birds of prey I had drawn. Falcons are
very cool birds and I love their coloring. The original
line art drawing was done about 1998, and the color was
added in 2007. I have recently completed another drawing
of the Peregrine Falcon in horizontal format with the wings
out. I will be posting it soon.

 This
version of the Peregrine Falcon was commissioned by a private
client as the logo for their new business venture. As part
of our agreement, they allowed me to sell prints of the
image.

Information about the Peregrine Falcon:
Peregrine Falcons are found worldwide, except for rainforests
and arctic regions. They prefer open habitats, such as grasslands,
tundra, and meadows. These falcons are determined hunters
that fly at high altitudes and often dive on their prey
at very high speeds. They mostly feed on birds they catch
in mid-air including pigeons and ducks. Like all falcons,
peregrines have long, tapered wings and a slim, short tail.
They are roughly crow sized, growing to about 15 inches
in length with a 40-inch wingspan. The Peregrine is the
official state raptor of Idaho.
