Information about Amphibians:
Amphibians are cold blooded animals that metamorphose
from a juvenile, water-breathing form to an adult, air-breathing
form. This includes frogs, toads, salamanders and newts.
Generally amphibians need sources of freshwater to live
in when they are developing. Many amphibians spend all of
their lives close or in the water. Others, like the toad,
spend most of their lives on land and return only to the
water to breed. Amphibians the world over are in steep decline
due to habitat loss, climate change, invasive species and
pollution.
