Artist's notes:
 The
African Lion illustration was a 'do-over' from an earlier
drawing. The older drawing showed the lion lying down and
the mane wasn't very pronounced. I decided that I wanted
the lion's mane to be very prominent in the drawing, which
I think it is here. I love the lion's face and the quiet
but formidable power his expression conveys.

Information about the African Lion:
Lions are the second largest living cats on earth, behind
the tiger. Unlike other cats lions are social and live in
'prides' which generally consist of some related females,
offspring and a small number of adult males.
